Cryptomagic Smokes The Field

Cryptomagic wins the 2012 KYD $2,000.000

Pick It Pack It Fire It Up And Come Along……Leaving a trail of smoke behind him Cryptomagic blazed up CD winning the 9th running of the $2,000.000 HRP KYD Derby soundly. The 14-1 shot snuck in the race battled up front took the lead and got up at the wire to win. After finishing 2nd in The Wood Memorial, Cryptomagic packed up another and came out on top! Looking to get on the lead and stay there he stalked The Last Danz until the final furlong. Rosario showed him the whip and he dug in and won by 3/4 of a length. Will he be the 1st TC winner in the history of HorseRacingPark? Cryptomagic now has $1,580.000 in career earnings.

As written by Lanfranco Stables in the public forum:”Cryptomagic away alertly, waited a bit then moved up quickly to setlle 3 wide outside of The Last Danz and Navy Brass  into the first turn. Continued on and seemed to be travelling well on the backstretch as Rosario had a tight hold. Still 3 wide and moved into 2nd as Navy Brass started to tire approaching the far turn. Coming into the stretch still chasing The Last Danz, Cryptomagic was asked for more and drifted out under pressure as Rosario went to work, and was hard driven to get past The Last Danz in the final furlong to sucure the win…..The Last Danz was stubborn in defeat and could be dangerous in the PRK.”
